Ms. Raiyana Rahman has been teaching at the Department since 20th October, 2016. Prior to that, she was an adjunct faculty member of the department for two semesters. Before starting her career at Independent University, Bangladesh, she had completed her Masters degree from Monash University in Communication and Media Studies and her Bachelors degree with double major from Curtin University in Marketing and Public Relations.

She has been teaching courses like Introduction to Communication, Public Speaking, Theories of Media and Communication, Media Culture and Society, Writing for Marketing Communication, Introduction to Media Writing and Film and TV Business Practices which are courses from the core communication area, film stream and advertising stream. Her primary research focus is in audience reception and cultural studies.

She is the Co-coordinator for a multi-section course titled Introduction to Communication (CMN 201) and she is also the faculty coordinator of the IUB K-Club (Korean Club).
